Sarah, Meredith, Kat and I are hosting the #reverb16 December challenge with daily writing prompts for the whole month! You can join in anytime by finding our Facebook group. Use the #reverb16 hashtag when posting on social media so we can find you!

Planning. How do you take your ideas from your head to reality? Did you buy a new calendar/planner for the new year? How do you trick yours out?

I am 100% NERD. Geek with two capital 'E's.

I do complex things in excel all day for my job. And I love every moment of it.

So when it comes to doing anything else in my life, I turn to excel almost like a comfort blanket. Chicken noodle soup for my brain.

I think in cells - rows, columns, nested 'if' formulas. It just makes so much sense to me.

I can organize absolutely any thought or idea, no matter how complex or abstract, in an excel spreadsheet.

When G and I took our 3 week trip to New Zealand last year, I had excel spreadsheets for our budget, calendar of events, packing list, and a summary sheet of all the points of contact we would need and could give to her mom and our dog-sitters so they would always know exactly where we were.

Where else are you going to find an electronic calendar that has 6 lines dedicated to where you are, where you're staying, what you need to do that day, what you have planned for fun, what Les Mills classes you want to take, and "other"? AND color code it? AND link it to a budget sheet? There's no app for that, that I am aware of. Maybe that's my genius app idea (!!!!)

A few more, to show off the extent of my neurosis.

If you need any recommendations on itinerary, places to stay, and things to do in New Zealand, hit me up!
