Travel. Where did you go this year? What was your favorite? Where do you plan to or want to go next year?

We crossed the Atlantic a record three times this year. To some that is a lot, to others it's nothing. For us, it was somewhat unexpected.
We knew and planned for our trip to the UK to visit my brother and his family in March. We stayed with them in Stowmarket, England for 4 days and took the train back to London and stayed there another 3 days to see the sights of the city.
We also knew that one of our best friends, Dan, wanted to celebrate his 40th birthday with a trip to Greece. But it wasn't planned until the springtime and the location was even up in the air until we all agreed that Greece was the best plan. G and I went to Stockholm Sweden first to attend a Les Mills International Quarterly and of course see the sights in this great nordic town. So beautiful! Then we met the guys down in Mykonos, went on to Santorini, and finally Athens.
We didn't know that we would also be headed to France for 2 weeks in December (just got back!) for unexpected reasons.
It was a pretty heavy travel year internationally. So much so that we were finally convinced that Global Entry was the way to go so that we could bypass most of the customs process leaving and reentering the US. It was awesome, BTW.
We also took domestic trips to Tampa, FL and Raleigh, NC to visit some great friends, and spent a long weekend at Deep Creek Lake in western MD.
This year, we had previously committed to staying domestic, but there's always the possibility that something unexpected will happen again. And, we kind of want to go back to France later this year to support the veterinary surgeons who helped our sweet Levi in the opening of their new surgical center. We also have aspirations to go out west and see Grand Canyon, Mt Zion, and some other great hiking sights out that way. I'm so looking forward to it!
